  Termocouple is manufactured by connection both ends of two dissimilar metal wires, and when themperature difference occurs on the contacts on these two ends, thermal electro motive force occurs in this closed-circuit and electric current flows on this circuit. The size and the polarity of this electro motive force are determined by the temperature on both ends and the combination of the two metal wires, and are not affected by the thickness or the length of the metal wire. As the electro motive force can be pre-read according th the temperature of specific thermocouple, temperature can be measured. Thermocouple not only requires selection of appropriate wires according to the temperature measurement range, situation of the measuring places, and the required accuracy, but also requires the maintaining of same performance even when it is used for a long period of thime.
