Photomicrograghs show the effects of oxidation on oskins 2300¢ç MI Cable and Inconel* 600 sheath matherials after exposure to 2300¢ªF. While substantial oxidation of the Inconel* 600 sheath occurs, Hoskins 2300¢ç self-armoring sheath alloy limits oxidation to a tightly adherent surface layer. Hoskins Thermal Systems double sheath configruation not only ensures durability, but also is applied with counter-positioned welds, minimizing the possibility of weld defects that would lead to probe contamination.
